Leadership is the complex interaction between the leader and the lead. Its people face to face working out serious challenges in order to make the organization better. You don’t learn to lead by taking a seminar. You learn… by actually getting out front of your people and leading. It’s not easy… but we can help. Contact us.

Business is Combat.  It’s a Battle Out There! The better your Leadership – Teamwork – and Communication – The better your chances are to survive, sustain and to then excel in the Fight!

What can the Corporate Combat Leaders Course (CCLC) do for you?

First, it produces results. The CCLC changes attitudes and behaviors in order to improve your organization. We train people to become better leaders and team members to ensure your organization will be more effective and productive. This makes your organization or business even more successful. Our philosophy, teaching strategy and training concepts are derived from outside the traditional training culture. We separate leadership (the ability to motivate and influence people) from management (the process of controlling resources). Our concept of pure, realistic leadership training prepares your people to overcome the stress and pressures of real life, in order to be successful.

Learning Philosophy

Current business leadership training is either the typical seminar or the classroom type. At the CCLC our cornerstone is experiential or performance-oriented learning. We recognize the importance of leadership training and development to the long term success of all organizations and businesses. We’ve replaced the sterile classroom environment with dynamic, hands on, real life situations. Students are confronted with real situations that provide many possible solutions. After analyzing choices, making a decision, and taking action, they then see the consequences of their decisions. People must actually experience the interaction of live situations to learn what works best for them.

What makes performance-oriented learning more powerful is that it takes place on three different levels. It is emotionally, physically, and intellectually challenging at the same time. The CCLC is designed to demand more from students. The idea is to find strength and weakness, to take a good hard look at it and then make the improvements.

Teaching Strategy

It’s no secret that performance-oriented programs make learning more powerful. You can read about leadership. You can listen to speakers talk about how to become a leader. You can watch videos of other people being leaders. But until you do it, experience it, and feel it, you’ll never really become a leader.

By using performance-oriented training, making student leaders responsible for the success of their teams, we can develop the best leaders for your organization.

Our teaching strategy provides the following advantages over traditional methods:

  • Risk free opportunities to take actions and test strengths and weakness in design and implementation of the students own plans.

  • The ability for us to compress or expand time and space, add new data, introduce complications or eliminate them as experience dictates.

  • Stopping the actions to change course or to point out interesting behaviors, and to tie actions into the leadership principles.

  • Encourages the highest personal involvement by our students into the learning process.

  • The use of the After Action Review. AAR’s provide immediate feedback for each team element. AAR's provide impartial feedback, that encourage interaction and discussion of team strengths and weaknesses by all members of the team. Every AAR orients on a specific mission and /or system, identifying good and bad trends, and provides teams the opportunity to determine not only what their weaknesses are, but who is going to fix that weakness.

The uniqueness of the CCLC cannot be overstated. No other training program presents, in comparison, the scope, scale and intensity of effort that is expended at the CCLC. Richard Riley, President - The Leadership Performance Training Center Inc.

The Training Courses

basic_shield.jpg (37890 bytes)The Corporate Combat Leaders Course - Basic (CCLC-B) is the basic core program for all leadership development. The CCLC-B uses a real world scenario using a U. S. Military organizational model as the vehicle to drive the performance-oriented exercises. Using real world scenarios to develop leadership and teamwork provides:

  • An intense and realistic situation / condition to develop in. Thanks to today’s news media coverage of our efforts with military interventions, everyone can identify with the real difficulties our military is over coming everyday.

  • In keeping with experiential and performance-oriented qualities necessary to learning.

  • An environment that makes it viable for the same diversity of corporate America.

  • Allows the students more opportunity for leadership experience and to readily put the leadership principles into practice.

  • It allows for the illumination of the relationship between actions and their consequences. Provides the ability to learn how to better do things through analysis and experimentation.

  • It allows for the student to experience the cost of mistakes. Thus providing an immediate lessoned learned.

During the CCLC-B we don’t simply talk about leadership. Our students are assigned leadership roles and taught the necessary skills to succeed in these positions. This 4 day outdoor training course is designed to challenge students, ultimately making them more confident, more experienced and more successful. Our training program removes the classroom and places students in an outdoor environment. Utilizing video technology, students receive timely feedback on their performance.

advanced shield.jpg (35552 bytes)The Corporate Combat Leaders Course – Advanced (CCLC-A) is a follow on course that adds additional skill sets and continues to builds on the fundamentals learned during the Basic course. We utilize a computer driven simulation exercise as the vehicle used to drive the course work. The CCLC Advance supports realistic, stressful training and leader development for organizations and companies that already have CCLC Basic Course graduates.

These are designed computer simulation exercises that provide high intensity, realistic, stressful training and leader development opportunities to our students with pre-approved and agreed upon training objectives. This will provide the students with a dynamic real life environment and a free playing adversary that portray conflict and challenges across the full spectrum of life’s interactions.

Provide exercise based feedback for lessons learned, with direct input to student leaders.

Support leader transformation and serve as a data source for improvements of all future organizational team training, and leader development.

The CCLC Staff Cadre has provided specific guidance for the design and conduct of the training course. The course will provide:

  • A primary focus in leader development.

  • Train to the standards and principles learned in the Basic Course.

  • Follow all exercises with After Action Reviews (AAR) that guide leaders to accept responsibility for their decisions.

  • Use a free-thinking opponent with an equal chance to win.

  • A scenario where the outcome is not assured.

  • The consequences of student leader decisions are fully played out.

  • Conduct a restart to underscore adherence to standards and mastery of the task.

master shield.jpg (39830 bytes)The Corporate Combat Leaders Course – Master (CCLC-M) is a follow on 5 day course that builds on all the skill sets learned from the previous two courses. We go back outdoors and integrate with the CCLC cadre. The Masters Course provides a much more hands-on and face to face leadership interaction with our students.

The students have the job of training teams and to observe team performance, control training development and training operations, teach leadership doctrine, coach junior leaders to improve team performance, monitor safety and conduct professional After Action Reviews (AARs).

The Masters Course is a culmination of all the leadership training provided by the CCLC .

To provide our clients the maximum scheduling flexibility, our basic course is made up of four modules presented as four - one day programs.  Modules consist of the Basic Core 101, 102, 103 and 104 programs.

Each module gets progressively harder and expands on lessons learned from the previous module.  Clients have the option of selecting the basic course as a four consecutive day program or spreading out the course by having one day modules over time in order to help in their scheduling.   Clients may also just select a single or multiple modules based on their own leadership and teambuilding requirements.

Our courses are open to individuals or to organizations wishing to send groups or existing teams.  Class sizes can vary from 7 to 15 students.
